Aerial industrial photography - ARTC Intermodal shoot
The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) needed to build an image library of their operations following their recent rebranding. I was asked to help with their frieght operations in Sydney. The first part is an aerial shoot of what happens each end of the freight line, encompassing Port Botany, Enfield and Chullora Rail Yards, Tahmoor cutting and two customer locations in the Southern Highlands. We managed the shoot comfortably within the budgeted two hours, even with air traffic delays due to operating right next to Sydney Airport. The result is a stunning library of aerial images, helped enormously by waiting for the right conditions. The challenge with aerial photography always being juggling so many things at once, instructing the pilot while composing and shooting on the go, not really knowing what is going work until we are up there.
